Article: Russian war refugee in South Korea... "I lost my card with all of my money on it" found the next day
Source: Money Today via Naver
A 20 year old Russian woman who escaped Russia to South Korea last month after her friends were arrested for protesting the war shared a story of losing and finding her only working bank card. Her other cards are currently blocked in South Korea, and a trip to Armenia is required in order to replace the lost working one. Police were able to contact the appropriate avenues to secure an emergency card for her but also helped her backtrack her steps the next day where her card was returned to her by a local security guard.

1. [+1,999, -16] She must not know our country very well. Koreans have no interest in stealing your cards or laptops. The only things you need to look out for are your bikes or cafe seats.
2. [+649, -10] I lost my Moncler puffer not too long ago and was so upset but went to go find it the next day and someone had hung it up on a tree in the area ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ our country's the best
3. [+636, -8] Very dangerous to steal cards in our country.. you go straight to jail. Everyone knows that so if you ever lose something, just trace back your steps and it will always be there.
4. [+329, -15] Amazing of the police for helping. Thank you.
5. [+247, -17] Just for clarification, she's a refugee because she participated in an anti-war protest, not because she's avoiding conscription since she's a woman
6. [+123, -0] I found a cellphone at a bathroom near Hongdae station. The screen was in English with BTS as the background picture. I instantly thought of the foreigners I saw talking about BTS by the door so I ran out and saw them going up the escalator. I was thankfully able to get them their phone back. Felt so proud to wave them off. As expected of our country.
7. [+61, -5] I can't imagine how afraid the Russian woman must have felt. The policewoman must've felt like her savior. I hope they all have a happy day.
8. [+47, -1] Our civilians are always top-notch people. It's just our politicians who are running this country backward.
9. [+35, -0] So glad to hear. Thank you again to all of the police in our country. And to the Russian woman, I hope the war ends quickly so she can return safely to her home country.
10. [+36, -2] Koreans have always been like this. If they see a lost card on the street, they look at it but keep walking. And our police are always so kind to foreigners as well ^^;; this is an instance of our police doing good but let's not ignore all of the s*xual harassment, burglary, etc cases that they choose to ignore with our own civilians. Let's please show this kind of attention to our own people too!!
11. [+31, -0] I'm so happy to hear that. Our police are the best... and this is how we continue to improve our country's image. Great work to all~
12. [+22, -1] It's moments like this when a person can lose their card or cellphone and get it right back that I feel like our country is a decent place to live in
13. [+17, -0] How scary it must've been to lose everything you own in a foreign country. I'd be upset if I were in her shoes, too. Thank you to the police for taking care of her until the end.
14. [+13, -1] You can find anything you lose in our country, as long as it's not a bike
15. [+12, -0] We have way too many CCTVs for people to be as brazen as to take something that isn't theirs. Our country's decent about things like this, unlike when I go to Europe and I have to worry about pickpocketing.
